Previously I have worked in Hospital Roles for six months in Paediatrics, Accident and Emergency Medicine and Respiratory Medicine. Additionally I have worked for 4 months in each of the following specialties: Ear Nose and Throat Surgery, General Surgery, Elderly Medicine, Psychiatry and Haematology.
I have extensive experience working with elite athletes and professional sports teams including: the Football Association of Wales, Liverpool FC (1st XI), the Irish football Association, Queensland Reds RFC, Brisbane Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre, Gloucester Allgolds RLFC, Newcastle Eagles (basketball), Gateshead FC, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Special Olympics and Blaydon RFC
My team doctor duties include providing medical cover to the players during training sessions, matches and away tours. I also manage the health & well-being of players and staff outside of training sessions. This includes liaising with other team members, monitoring the health of players, assessing fitness to play, anti-doping advice/teaching, managing chronic issues & providing health/lifestyle advice to players.
